المستخلص

This paper aims to shed light on the phenomenon of linguistic synonyms in Arabic, and particularly in the Holy Quran. Also, it seeks to discuss the views of supporters and opponents of its existence, and answers a key question which is: Is the Quran linguistically synonymous? Or, are there precise linguistic differences that require the use of a particular word without other synonyms? The research applied the descriptive analytical approach to answer this question, and reviewed the reasons for the existence of the linguistic synonyms phenomenon in Arabic. Then, the research discussed the theory of linguistic relativity that emphasizes the impact of language on human thinking, as those who speak different languages live in different mental worlds. This confirms the influence of language in the formation of knowledge and thought for different people. The research concluded that there are linguistic differences between the synonyms that used carefully by the Quran in proportion to the linguistic context, not only that, but also consistent with the level of accuracy of the word in conveying the modern scientific meaning
