المستخلص

This research aims at shedding light on the Features of the Arab Theory of Innovation from the Perspective of
the Arabists of Bosnia and Herzegovina – The Critical Studies of Dr Asaad Duraković as a Model. Moreover, it
attempts to uncover the efforts of Bosnia and Herzegovina in introducing the Arab heritage generally and the rhetorical
heritage specially.
The research has reached some results:
- The domination of the philological approach (method) over the Bosnian and Herzegovinian Arabists' studies
of the Arab literary heritage as a necessity imposed by the nature, language and history of the studied subjects
as well as the culture and language of students.
- The features of the Arab theory of innovation from the perspective of the Arabists of Bosnia and Herzegovina
are demonstrated in the excessive preference of the form over the content in the light of strict inductive
philological criteria.
- Doctor Durakovic related the deterioration of the innovative case of Arab literature for several centuries to the
conventional trait of composition in Arab rhetoric.
- Doctor Durakovic observed some manifestations of the stagnation of Arab rhetoric, appearing clearly in the
inheritance of rhetorical models and quotes. To prove his opinion, he indicated the texts of the Samarkandi
Message in metaphors.
- Doctor Durakovic related the phenomena of metatextuality represented in explanations, summaries and
footnotes to the different politics and circumstances of its era.
- In his evaluation of ancient Arab rhetorical compositions, Durakovic's method and opinion seem to be
nonbiased to the present point of view which projects its special criteria and methodical experiences upon the
past.
The nature of the research has entailed the use of the analytical descriptive method as it has presented opinions
of some Arabists of Bosnia and Herzegovina – firstly including Asaad Durakovic – about the theory Arab innovation.
The research has also analyzed these opinions and commented on them in the light of the critical practices of ancient
Arab critics.
