Pragmatic is concerned with the use of language , and the theory of speech acts is one of its
principal bases , it is the starting point for analysis , to arrive at semantics through the context of situation
and other contexts , in addition to analyze the distances , and relation between the conversors .
This study deals with the analysis of samples of promises and commissives in the quaranic context
by employing the pragmatic approach as a component of the new rhetoric.
The commissives are a class of acts by the division of John Searle as a method of expression, the
speaker turns to it when persuasion is not useful.
This approach uses rhetorical and grammatical mechanisms, reasoning, contexts and case studies,
the study shows how linguistic indicators contribute to the modification of illocutor force to the
commisives.
